Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies with Flax and Chia Seeds

May 15th is National Chocolate Chip Day, and it would be a crime against humanity not to have some form of chocolate chip something today. After much trial and error & maybe a little too much chip sampling, I have a delicious recipe for healthy and delicious chocolate chip cookies with FitFlax. Golden Roasted FitFlax contains both flax and chia seeds and give these yummy chocolate chip cookies and nice nutty flavor.

This recipe makes 28 LARGE cookies that are 200 calories each. These cookies freeze well.

Ingredients:
2 cups chocolate chips
1/4 cup FitFlax
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda


Directions:
1. Mix shortening and sugars.
2. Add vanilla and eggs.
3. Combine flour, baking soda, choc. chips &
FitFlax.
4. Add to creamed mixture.
5. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.

Enjoy! Tastes great with a nice cold glass (2% is my personal choice).
