National Lobster Day!

June 15th is National Lobster Day. Or if you hail from Maine, I should say today is National Lobstah Day!

However you say it, not only is lobster delicious, it is also low in calories and fat, and LOADED with protein. A 6 oz portion of lobster meat has only 160 calories. The calorie and fat issue happens when you start dunking it in melted butter. A much better choice is to dip your lobster in cocktail sauce.

Lobster is more than just a a great source of lean protein. Lobster also contains
Omega-3 fatty acids, which are associated with good heart health.

I was not even aware of the holiday and had a 2 1/2 pound lobster at Peter Luger's in Great Neck this past weekend. So good. It is a fair amount of work however and you can tell from my shirt (Flax Chick will not do the bib thing!) that I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster!

So treat yourself today, have some lobster...it does a heart good!
